Overview
  Students are educated in design, graphics and furniture making using hand tools, power tools, machines, construction principles and materials used past and present. Through theory and practical teaching experience students develop teaching skills and classroom learning techniques.

Graduats qualified to teach Materials Technology (Wood) and Technical Graphics to Junior Certificate level and Architectural Technology and Design and Communication Studies to Leaving Certificate honours standard in the Irish second level school system.

 
Careers or Further Progression
  The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Design and Technology Education degree qualifies graduates to teach - Technical Graphics Junior Cert, Materials Technology (Wood) Junior Cert, Technical Drawing Leaving Cert, Construction Studies Leaving Cert.
